Divyang-Ek Ummeed is an organization that includes physically handicapped people (Divyangjan) in the mainstream of the society.
Have been working for the last 3 years and have worked in the direction of the Societies Registration Act 1860 and Company Registered with Certificate of Registration No. 381/2016-17 under the Act 1950.
About us
Divyang-Ek Ummeed, an organization dedicated to integrating persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) into mainstream society, has operated for four years under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and holds Company Registration Certificate No. 381/2016-17 under the Act 1950. Spearheaded by Vikas Gupta, a B.Tech graduate from IIT Roorkee, the organization stemmed from his personal challenges accessing information about disability benefits during college. Supported by IIT Roorkee’s Director Dr. Pradeepta Bannerjee and Professor Vinaya Nagiya, alongside a team of 100 students, Divyang-Ek Ummeed facilitates access to benefits for Divyangjan in government institutions, NGOs, and various schemes. Incubated at IIT Roorkee’s Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support (TIDES), the organization also receives support from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, collaborating with government departments such as Divyangjan Dept., Transport Dept., and Education Dept. It has expanded its reach to institutes like IIT Delhi, IIM Calcutta, FMS Delhi, and engaged in startup competitions. Over three years, Divyang-Ek Ummeed has enacted numerous welfare schemes, emphasizing employment, education, and awareness, contributing significantly to the empowerment of persons with disabilities and fostering societal inclusion.

Divyaang Ek Ummeed Celebrates New Milestone at Dindayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University
Divyaang Ek Ummeed, a pioneering initiative dedicated to the empowerment of individuals with disabilities, proudly announces the opening of its latest stall at Dindayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. This significant milestone was marked by a momentous inauguration ceremony led by the Honorable Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh.
The newly inaugurated stall at Dindayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University represents a major step forward in the organization’s mission to enhance accessibility and inclusivity across educational institutions in the state. The ceremony was graced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who offered his invaluable support and guidance to the initiative.
In a broader effort to promote empathy and equal rights for individuals with disabilities, Divyaang Ek Ummeed has successfully set up accessible stalls in universities throughout Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is supported by the blessings of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and aims to foster a more inclusive society. Notable inaugurations of these stalls have taken place at:
- University of Lucknow: The stall was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor.
- Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow: The stall opening was marked by a special ceremony.
- Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Ayurveda University: A stall was inaugurated to promote accessibility.
- King George’s Medical University, Lucknow: The accessible stall was ceremoniously opened.
- PGI Lucknow: The stall was inaugurated as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts.
